Julie M. Branting

Director of Business Development

Ms. Branting is the third generation of her family to work in the oil and gas industry.  Ms. Branting has run the day to day operation of PetroPro Engineering since 2001.  PetroPro has been contract operating oil and gas properties in the Denver-Julesburg basin in Colorado since 2006 for a major municipality.  Ms. Branting has contracted her services thru PetroPro Engineering to J.M. Huber, Executive Petroleum Services and Petro Gulf.  Ms. Branting has more than 25 years’ experience in West Texas and the Rocky Mountain region.  She served as the Operations manager for Bataa Oil, a small oil and gas operator in Colorado and as a Production Engineer for Chevron Corporation.  Additionally, she has worked for the Colorado Oil and Gas Conservation Commission.  Ms. Branting earned her Master and Bachelor of Science degrees in Petroleum Engineering from the University of Wyoming.

Dr. Branting recently served as Executive Vice President of Operations at Denver based Kodiak Oil and Gas, Inc. from June of 2011 until December 2014.  Prior to that, he was Kodiak’s’ Manager of Operations starting in June 2007.  Kodiak conducted horizontal well operations in North Dakota and Montana drilling over 350 horizontal wells and 11 disposal wells.  Kodiak merged with Whiting Petroleum in December 2015.  He has more than 25 years’ experience throughout the Rocky Mountain region and West Texas in both field and management positions.  He has served in various engineering and management positions with Anadarko Petroleum Corp., Western Gas Resources, Tesco Underbalanced Drilling Services, Snyder Oil Corporation and Chevron Corporation.  Dr. Branting earned his Ph.D. from the University of Wyoming in Petroleum Engineering in 1993, as well as a Bachelor and Master of Science degree in Petroleum Engineering.

Ron Finch

Mr. Finch is a Professional Engineer (Colorado PE # 43789) with more than 30 years of experience in reservoir, production and completion operations.   He is an author of multiple SPE papers.   Over the last 6 years Ron recruited and managed teams at Samson Resources and Kodiak Oil and Gas and was responsible for completion operations, fracture stimulation design, onsite execution, and post treatment production evaluation.  The groups’ accomplishments include; 350+ horizontal completions in North Dakota and Wyoming, annual completion budgets from 50 to 500 MM$/year, implementation of completion capital costs reductions approaching ~33% per well, reservoir evaluation for high density pilots (6+) in the Bakken/Three Forks intervals and artificial lift evaluation and optimization for high volume North Dakota wells.  Mr. Finch has extensive experience with the evaluation, design and execution of hydraulic fracture treatments and has authored numerous field studies throughout the U.S. and internationally to optimize completion results by integrating the reservoir properties with the stimulation characterization.  He earned his BS-Chemical Engineering degree at the University of Colorado.

He recently served as Director of Oil and Gas Operations with Progress Solutions from January 2015 to May 2015. Prior to that he was the Williston Basin District Production Operations Manager for Kodiak Oil and Gas, Inc. from May 2010 until December 2014. He has more than 35 years’ experience in engineering and management positions in Williston Basin, Oklahoma, North and West Texas and Rocky Mountain regions. He has served in various engineering and management positions with Chevron Corporation, Gulf Oil Exploration and Production Corporation and Medora Corporation. Mr. Myers earned his Bachelor degree in Geology from West Virginia University in 1977 and Bachelor of Science degree in Petroleum and Natural Gas Engineering from Pennsylvanian State University in 1979.

Graduated from Colorado State University in 1980 (B.S. Geology), and attended the Colorado School of Mines from 1982-1984–graduate study in geological engineering. Held various geological positions with other companies from 1981-2000. Employed at Western Gas Resources from 2000-2003. Employed at J.M. Huber Corp from 2003-2004, and Cabot Oil  & Gas from 2004-2011.
